Luxemburg-Casco’s Austin Worachek Sets Goal to Finish at State

Austin Worachek doesn’t seem to have the type of personality to makes excuses, even though a high fever and an undiagnosed staph infection dashed his hopes to advance to states last season. Despite the terrible illness, Austin Worachek still felt that it was this shortcoming that kept him from his goal of state champion.

While he didn’t make the staph infection an excuse, he did turn it into leverage to work even harder. Worachek said, “I’m hungry. I want to win it.” He’s off to a pretty good start ranking 4th at 145 in D2 according to Wisconsin Wrestling Online.

Even Austin Worachek’s teammates have noticed a difference in him. Its almost as if he is in such a focused state that he’s difficult to talk to. Fellow senior Dan Dorner states, “I know he’s out for redemption this year.”
